Vatican Souvenir French Ivory Key Stanhope 1950 PAX Convention Commemorative

This French Ivory Key is in excellent condition as is its accompanying tassel. French Ivory is a type of celluloid that looks to imitate Ivory. This piece is gold washed so it looks more like a golden key than ivory. Most of the souvenirs are of the "white" ivory type, so this one is a bit different than usual. It must have hung on a wall or sat on a desk undisturbed for quite some time as the front side of it has faded and is not as "golden" colored as the other side. The stanhope is a clear view showing 2 images. It is titled "PAX ANNO SANTO ROMA 1950" and the images show the Pope and the Vatican. This was a Vatican commemorative made in 1950 for the PAX Convention in Rome, Italy.
