Description

This is a nice condition Vintage Lord's Prayer Cross Necklace made of wood that resembles Bog Oak or Ebony. It appears to us to be of a lighter wood that has been stained black. It retains a metal eyelet as a bail and a woven elastic necklace cord is attached to it. The stanhope shows the Lord's Prayer. the font is quite ornamental like those used in Canterbury England in the 16th century. we estimate this cross to have been made between 1950-70 and it is not likely that it was a mass produced piece but rather something more along the lines of trench-art. The stanhope is nice and clear and easy to read in spite of the highly ornamental font style. A nice piece to wear or collect.
