Victorian Carved Bog Oak Irish Celtic Harp Charm with Stanhope Viewer Killarney Ireland This Victorian Era figural Celtic Harp charm pendant has been carved from millennials old bog oak. It retains it's original split ring and is ready for easy attachment to your bracelet or necklace, though this piece would be considered better to collect. From the looks of the ring, it has never been put on a bracelet and it's condition leads me to believe that it has remained unused all of these years. It was made in the late 19th century circa 1880s. This charm measures 17mm tall (not including rings), 13mm wide and 7mm thick. The stanhope lens view and the charm pendant are in excellent condition. The stanhope is very clear and easy to read. This microphoto shows six views of Killarney, Ireland. As far as bog oak pendants are concerned it is easiest to find pigs, cauldrons and kettles and on occasion an owl, but harps like this one are a bit more challenging to find with stanhopes. Stanhope Lens Main Title : A MEMORY OF KILLARNEY The 6 individually titled scenes include : GENERAL VIEW OF THE LAKES THE GAP OF DUNLOE ROSS CASTLE BRICKEN BRIDGE OLD WEIR BRIDGE MUCKROSS ABBEY It is also marked "MADE IN FRANCE' in the lower right corner. Most of these type charms are usually marked "McKee Dublin" but this one is not denoting it is one of the earlier charms of this type.
