A souvenir of Niagara Falls, this turned and carved bone handled dip pen is very elaborate. The design, with symmetrical hole cut-outs and carvings, is quite intricate. The pen's tip screws inside of the handle when it's not in use, to avoid ink spots. The handle's end is flat and checkered for erasing. Close to this end, is the location of a stanhope lens that magnifies a microphotograph of 6 different pictures of Niagara Falls and points of interest nearby with great clarity. Below and outside the image, there is minor bubbling in the lens. Overall, the condition of this souvenir stanhope dip pen is very good. The metal part of the dip pen is loose and the bone handle has a hair line crack in the end, taking little from the value of this writing implement from the late 19th, early 20th centuries.
