Description

Finely detailed vintage Wells Steeple Church religious pendant or charm is made of solid sterling silver. It is a well made charm and retained in nearly new mint condition. It features raised pane windows, church door, and a beautiful tall steeple. It is in very nice condition and not at all tarnished. eady to collect or wear. The stanhope lens shows the "LORD'S PRAYER" with an woman kneeling in prayer at the top. It is the typical image found in most Lords Prayer jewelry made during this period. It is also marked "MADE IN FRANCE" along the right side.

Wells, Inc. manufactured jewelry in Attleboro, Mass. from 1922 through the 1960's. they started their business in the old Robinson Building. on Railroad Ave. Wells promoted their jewelry well and it was quite popular. Well claimed in advertisements to be "The world's largest manufacturer of movable charms". The produced much of the stanhope jewelry made during that period sourcing stanhopes from France.
