Nicely turned and carved figural Cauldron Kettle celebrating early Pagan culture of the UK. A very charming, collectible Victorian stanhope charm turned and carved from bog oak in the shape of a Witches Cauldron. This one is unusual due to it's 3 turned bog oak legs which are more commonly metal rather than wood. The kettle has a grayish metal stave running through it by which the movable u-shaped handle is attached. There is also a heavy golden jump ring on the handle. This cauldron also has a lid with a grip on top. If you peer through the stanhope lens, which is mounted sideways through the center, you can see 6 tiny images of Peterborough, Ireland. Peterborough is a cathedral city found in Cambridgeshire, England. The image is clear and easy to see with no deterioration. The image is titled "A MEMORY OF PETERBOROUGH / MCKEE DUBLIN" and the six individually titled photos include:

West Front Of Cathedral
Market Place
West Front
Interior East
Cathedral and Bishop's Palace
Cathedral North

It's apparent the folks there are really proud of their cathedral. The peculiarities of the stanhope image would place this one as having been made just about 1890. The stanhope image also bears the marking "Made in France" MEASUREMENTS: 25mm high (includes the handle when raised, but not the jump ring) x 12mm diameter x 16mm wide (includes handle and hardware) Weight - 1.5g.
